How do you remove a sim from a household?

How do you remove a sim from a household in The Sims 2? (University, if it matters).



I have 2 guys in a dorm but only want to take care of one Is there any way to do this without just abandoning the other one?How do you remove a sim from a household?
You could make him an NPC student or move him out.



To move him out, you use the newspaper or the computer and choose the 'find own place' option. He will then be sent to the sim bin and won't be in play again until you put him on a new lot. You always have to control him.



To make him an NPC student is a bit (but only a bit) more complicated and I use a hacked object to do it. I use Inge Jones' Teleporter Cat. It's here:

Make sure you get the right version for your game.



You place it on the lot, select your sim, click on the cat and choose 'Make me a townie.' As long as you do this on a university dorm lot, the sim will become an NPC student, just like the Maxis ones. Mind you, you will probably not see him again for some time if you let the game generate the usual number of students when you loaded your University neighbourhood. He will leave the lot and will no longer be resident on it.
