yes your sim can be a very good student if you get all the skill requirements and if you class performance meter is full. To get your class performance meter full you can click on your sim click on college and then click on do assignment (you don't have to it just raises your class performance meter) or you can click on the computer and write your term paper(you don't have to either) and each time when you go to class you raise you class performance meter. To see your class performance meter click on the job panel.About Sim 2 university?
Yes, if you do assignments (by clicking on your sim and pressing "do assaignment") and reports that you can do by accessing a computer.
Also, your sims must always be happy when they leave for class
